War In Iraq Makes America 'Less Safe'

A story in WaPo, "Spy Agencies Say Iraq War Hurting U.S. Terror Fight," claims that the War in Iraq serves as a recruitment poster for terrorists, thus making America less safe. First of all, are they claiming that the terrorists could find no fault in America before the War in Iraq? If we weren't in Iraq they'd be in Afghanistan, or, even worse, in America. If they didn't have Iraq to make them angry they'd rally around the Israel/Lebanon conflict. Second, why should we decide what to do on the world stage based on what the terrorists would like. We shouldn't go into Iraq because it will upset terrorists? Since when do we let terrorists dictate right and wrong to us? Personally, I see it as a good sign that the terrorists are pissed we're in Iraq. That means we're doing something right.
