The Effectiveness Of Catch and Release
A surprisingly open story from the NYT, with a quote that shows the effectiveness of catch and release programs. After the US government began catch and release due to lack of facilities to house illegals:
[Illegals] would cross the river in droves in broad daylight, run up to Border Patrol agents and line up to be arrested, knowing they would be released and could then continue on their journey. More than 200 a day were arrested in Eagle Pass alone.Charming. Hat tip to O'Riley.
By the way, don't bother reading the article. Their constant use of the word "migrant" instead of, say, "illegal," will make you sick.
